ok...lets tell u the entire thing properly, in the c:\\windows\resources\themes folder, u might get a folder with ur favorite theme folder inside it. inside that theme folder u will find a folder called as Shell, inside that folder u find a shellstyle.dll file. this file is responsible for defining the shell style color of the windows xp themes, this is the file that u need to replace inorder to get the green look as shown in the screenshot above.
If u want to edit the above shellstyle.dll file and want to make a new background image, then use any hex editor software like regedit, and u can easily edit the shell style, color, position of the shell and the commands written in it.
Lol, this is what I get for not going on dA enough.. SOO.. I tried this and by predefined installer on it do you mean just cut the Shell out and paste it into WINDOWS?
yes just download it, it has a predefined installer in it. you have to run it. as of the start orb, u can use a freeware program called as viorb, for the vista start orb like look. the transparency you can get by using a freeware program called as truetransparency.
u can download viorb from lee-soft.com and true transparency from crystalxp..net
First try changing the XP theme to the default theme, or any other theme other than the one whose shell u want to replace...in simple words make sure that the theme whose shell u want to replace is not in use at that time.
I know many of u are confused about this shell replacement kinda thing...i was actually thinking of putting up a readymade visual style...but these vista critics...always tend to critisize!!

I have a shell like this but its.. black. From Vishal Gupta. Do I need the same background for it to look right?
Also.. how do I download? No patcher.. no renaming files? etc.. just download? and put it into your themes?

I tried to replace but it said that I can't replace the shell because it's in use
